How to Use a Proxabrush
A Proxabrush is a cleaning accessory that looks like a tiny pipe cleaner attached to a plastic handle. It has soft bristles that is really gentle on your gums and wires. The brush is used for cleaning between orthodontic wires where toothbrushes can’t reach. The best part about the Proxabrush is that it’s small enough to fit in your pocket or backpack easily! These are great to have on hand because they are easy to use when you are in a hurry or out and about.
Directions:
Gently slide the Proxabrush under your wire between two teeth in a back-and-forth motion. If you do this, you will be removing plaque and food debris from around the bracket. Slide the brush under a wire near the gums to continue the cleaning process. This is very important to make sure you don’t keep anything in your wires for a long period of time. We recommend using a Proxabrush after every brushing to minimize white spots and improve your oral health. Regular use of the Proxabrush will help fight off any unwanted plaque and bacteria and keep your gums looking top notch throughout your orthodontic journey. Additional Information:
It is important to make sure to switch out your Proxabrush every week or so. You do not want to find yourself using the same brush for a while because they can collect germs and bacteria. We will supply you with enough of them throughout your treatment. Let us know if you have any questions, please give us a call or let us know next time you’re in the office.
